JSC “Vostochny Port,” the largest Russian specialized terminal with high-tech coal handling and a member of the coal port holding “Managing Port Company,” held a solemn meeting dedicated to the assignment of the honorary title “Veteran of the sea port “Vostochny Port” to the company’s employees.
This year, 26 port workers received the honorary title “Veteran of the sea port “Vostochny Port.” Vadim Baibak, the Managing Director of JSC “Vostochny Port,” presented the veterans with honorary signs, certificates and cash awards, noting the significant contribution that each of them had made to the work of the company.
“Each of you has devoted a significant part of your life to working at “Vostochny Port.” Thanks to your conscientious work, “Vostochny Port” is a powerful and high-tech enterprise. We are proud of your achievements and we thank you for your high professionalism and dedication to the enterprise,” Vadim Baibak addressed the veterans.
Alexander Anatolyevich Merlinin, one of those awarded with the honorary sign this year, has been working as a docker in the specialized coal handling facility of JSC “Vostochny Port” since 1993. In his free time, he plays tennis and helps to train the youth hockey team “Vostochnik.”
“I can’t imagine my life without this job: a solid team, decent wages to build a future. 25 years flew by. It seems that not so long ago I was still a docker apprentice, mastering the techniques and improving my skills. Now I teach young people myself. Now a dynasty is coming up. My brother and I work in the same team; my son-in-law also works at the coal terminal. I believe, my daughter will get a job at JSC “Vostochny Port” upon graduation,” said Alexander Merlinin.
Honoring the port veterans on the threshold of a new year has become a good tradition for JSC “Vostochny Port.” The statute on the honorary title “Veteran of the seaport “Vostochny Port” was published in June 1999. This title is given to women who have 20 years of experience in the company and men with 25 years of experience. Throughout the stevedoring company’s history, 796 employees have been awarded the title, 555 of which took well-deserved rest.
